Giles is a Chartered Accountant (1982) and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner (1989). He trained with Thomson McLintock & Co in London and then moved to KPMG in Plymouth where he became a partner in 1991. Seeing the benefit of a niche practice dedicated to insolvency he joined Richard Smith in 1994.
He is a member of the General Technical Committee of R3, the Examiner for the personal insolvency paper of the JIEB exams and the accounting member of the Chancellors Rules Committee. He is also a co-author of 'Individual Voluntary Arrangements' published by Jordans.
He is married to Ruth and has two children. In his spare time he is Churchwarden, sings (tenor), plays cricket and gardens. |
